Artaic Expands Foundation Collection with Sintered Glass Mosaic Tile Offering
Sustainable, Floor-Rated Designs Now Available in the Brand’s Fast, Quick-Ship Format
Artaic, a leading mosaic manufacturer renowned for its innovative use of robotic technology and design tools to create custom, award-winning installations, announces the expansion of its Foundation Collection to include new sintered glass offerings.
The launch introduces a curated selection of designs in sintered glass, a commercially rated, sustainable material made from 100% post-consumer recycled content. These patterned mosaics are available by the square foot with domestic lead times as short as two weeks. The expansion marks a significant milestone for the collection, enabling it to serve more spaces and applications from residential backsplashes and powder rooms to commercial flooring in hospitality, healthcare, office, and multi-family environments. Sintered glass offers two finish options: a glossy finish and a frosted, sea glass-inspired finish, both with a high DCOF rating for slip resistance, meeting the performance requirements of demanding commercial floor specifications. The Sintered Glass option is made from recycled car windshield glass, a post-consumer recycled material, that offers great durability and a rich, versatile color palette. Its inherent sustainability qualities make it a great choice for buildings seeking LEED certification or designers seeking an environmentally friendly option with enhanced performance.
“The addition of sintered glass to Foundation brings us closer to something we’ve long worked toward – making mosaic genuinely accessible,” said Ted Acworth, Founder and CEO of Artaic. “An Artaic mosaic is not out of reach on any level – cost, lead-time, flexibility of design, and now sustainability. It belongs in more spaces, and our job is to make it a choice that is as approachable as it is beautiful. Our investment in domestic manufacturing and inventory stems from our belief in this medium and in the designers and specifiers who champion it every day. Foundation, in all its formats, is a reflection of that commitment.”
The Foundation Collection expansion supports ease of design consistency across projects and properties. Because Foundation designs are available in multiple colorways within the same pattern, it is an ideal wayfinding solution. Designers can specify the same motif across different spaces or locations, maintaining a cohesive aesthetic while adapting color to suit each environment. For hospitality brands, multi-family developers, and retailers with defined color identities, the collection offers a practical path to a unified design language across properties and surfaces. The collection’s modular model and short domestic lead time make it well-suited for value engineering and re-specification scenarios as well. When a project requires a last-minute material change, Foundation provides a design-forward mosaic option that can be specified quickly, with transparent per-square-foot pricing without the delays typically associated with custom tile work, now for any surface. A curated selection of designs from the Foundation Collection will be available in sintered glass, selected by Artaic’s design team for their suitability across flooring and wall applications; from classic stripes, checks, and plaids, to florals and geometric patterns. Also joining the collection is Marais, a popular legacy Artaic design that lends itself well as a flooring pattern, available here for the first time in Sintered Glass.
“Foundation was always about the enduring power of classic patterns… designs that never go out of style and work across any space,” said Ariel Tutunjian, Director of Sales and Design at Artaic. “The sintered glass expansion takes that a step further. Now designers have a single collection they can bring to every surface, walls, floors, wet areas, in curated colorways that work together across a project. It removes the guesswork and gives designers a reliable, design-forward tool for bringing color, pattern, and artistry into a space in a way that is both intentional and effortless.”
Responding to a market need for sophisticated, ready-to-specify design solutions, the Foundation Collection offers competitive, by-the-square-foot pricing with rapid domestic turnaround, ideal for projects with tight schedules or budgets. The expansion reflects a deliberate investment by Artaic in domestic inventory of Sintered Glass, housed at its Boston warehouse, making commercially rated mosaic flooring available on the same quick-ship terms designers already rely on for the vitreous glass line. Special trade pricing is available. The collection is unaffected by tariffs, ships in as little as two weeks expedited and 4-6 weeks standard, and is priced by the square foot with a minimum order of 60 square feet.
