April Showers
Remember those sexy Herbal Essences commercials from the early 2000’s? You and I both know you do…Now that I have your attention let’s get personal – showers. I think I speak for a great many of us when I say that the shower is the ultimate place of sanctuary in the abode. Sore and stressed from trying to tackle that COVID-15 at the gym? Crank up the heat and create your own sauna. Looking for an excuse to get out of those plans you haven’t had for a year? “I can’t make it, I haven’t been out in ages and I need to wash my hair.”
All jokes aside, showers are fantastic, and when it comes to design they are both underrated and the ideal space to take risks and get creative. A shower should be an oasis, your sweet respite. Make that 10-minute escape from the mayhem that ensues outside of those doors something inspiring! Whether you’re designing your very own shower or working on your client’s home, adding a mosaic can make any shower go from bland to dreamy.
Bring May Flowers
Biophilic inspired interiors are here to stay (I mean seriously weren’t we stuck inside enough in 2020 to last us a lifetime?). I for one fully support leaning into the “old-lady chic” chintz trend – so bring the outside into the bathroom with some bright and lively foliage.
Worth a Thousand Words
Everyone knows the saying a picture is worth a thousand words, so for all those visual learners out there – let’s tell a story in your shower! With Artaic’s innovative technology, you can turn your favorite photographs and pieces of art into a gorgeous custom mosaic. From pet portraits to family photos, we’ve done it all.
What’s Your Passion?
With the shower being such a personal space, it provides the perfect canvas. A great example of adding a personal touch is our D.C. residence shower mosaic. This stunning shower features a portion of a real-life “Climate Stripe” that shows temperature change in the Americas between 1901 to today. Both husband and wife at this residence are meteorologists, making this the ultimate, personalized shower that shows something they’re passionate about in style!
Maybe your shower is only frequented by you, or your family, or maybe your shower is on display for visitors and guests alike. Regardless of who is snooping in your medicine cabinet, look at your shower as an opportunity to create some visual impact in an overlooked space. I mean – let’s look at it for what it is, it’s literally a framed nook within your room that sits behind glass – it’s screaming for some art!
