Tyler Rose Complex
Artaic worked with mural artist and illustrator Brent Hale to produce a large scale, four panel mosaic mural for the exterior facade of the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center at the Tyler Rose Complex in Tyler, Texas. This mosaic mural serves as a colorful welcome to visitors to the Tyler Rose Complex, home of the famous Tyler Rose Garden.
Brent Hale began the designs for the mural as pen and paper sketches, then worked digitally to fine tune the illustrations, and finally worked with the design team at Artaic to translate his work into the mosaic form.
The final product is a whimsical four panel mosaic in our 1/2″ vitreous glass tile, each panel standing 8′ wide by 24.5′ tall and depicting fantastical scenes of fairies, gnomes, and colorful flora and fauna. In the words of Hale, “They wanted to do something different than just roses and flowers. They wanted to make it more whimsical and fun,” he said. “I was hoping to make people happy when they saw it and give them some pleasure. I thought it’d be cool to have someplace where people can take selfies and enjoy and hopefully make Tyler look a little prettier and colorful.”
