The Curtis Hotel
Artaic partnered with DLR Group to create this funky lobby mosaic in The Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver. Inspired by a poolside lounge, the floor portion of the mosaic creates a water-like texture that allows guests to feel as though they’re relaxing in a real pool! The wall portion of the mosaic is inspired by Zig from our Verge Collection in a cool turquoise palette to mimic a fun waterline. Using our 1″ Glazed Porcelain, this custom mosaic transforms the lobby into a tropical, tiki paradise. Mai Tai’s anyone?
“I was the designer on the project and developed the custom mosaics with the Artaic team. I appreciated that custom mosaic designs were so openly welcomed and encouraged. Often times designers are limited to standard offerings due to minimums, price increases and lead times. Being able to work with a manufacturer that readily provides sampling of custom options so efficiently and effectively made my job specifying much easier. I was able to send along inspirational imagery for the intent of the design, and the Artaic team was able to transpose those ideas into a physical material and create thoughtful installation instructions for the field workers. This was important since our mosaic designs were being applied to a dimensional millwork booths, not just a flat surface like most tile applications.” – Danielle Farchmin, Interior Designer at the DLR Group
