A Cosmic Backsplash

Designer Noz Nozawa featured an Artaic custom mosaic backsplash in the wet bar of her “Reflections on Stardust” movie room at the 2023 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. In designing the wet bar and movie room, Nozawa was inspired by outer space and the cosmos and sought to create a space that cultivates connection. Nozawa came to us with a dreamy outer space scene that we transformed into a mosaic backsplash using ½” Vitreous Glass tile from our Custom On-Demand palette and a sprinkle of our ½” gold leaf tile.

The custom mosaic adds texture and depth to this stunning installation and complements the surrounding wall coverings. In Nozawa’s words, “The wet bar, with a tile mosaic that continues the enveloping murals, makes space for cocktails and sparkling water, which pair perfectly with wines and sakes stashed in our positively psychedelic… wine cellar across the room.”
