Experience “Design For Dining” with Artaic!

As part of a new summer exhibit, Design Museum Boston paired seven of Boston’s best design firms with seven restaurants in Downtown Crossing to create unique vignettes that highlight how design can shape the dining experience. The exhibit opened June 11 and will run until November 11.

Design permeates every aspect of dining out at a restaurant. From the menus to the interior design, from the furniture to the food itself, every design discipline is represented; and at the core is collaboration and a shared vision with the restaurant client.

Artaic worked with Bergmeyer and Solider Design to create custom mosaics for Legal Crossing and Bonapita. Each mosaic was designed with the theme and aesthetics of the restaurant in mind – standing out as part of a unique popup space without looking out of place. The inherent durability and low-maintenance of tile make it a perfect choice for these types of high-traffic restaurant applications.

Design Museum Boston will host Downtown Table Tours on July 23rd at 5:30 and 6:30pm, where participants will be able to tour all seven participating restaurants and enjoy specially designed snacks and drinks.

Legal Crossing + Bergmeyer

Artaic created a custom glass mosaic table for the Legal Crossing vignette designed by Bergmeyer. The bright orange table top is backlit with LED lights that gradually shift from amber to crimson over the course of the 2-hour dining experience. The mosaic utilizes clear glass and sintered glass tiles to maximize the impact of the backlighting.

The table acts as the centerpiece of a private circular booth, the perfect setting for a specially crafted dinner that aims to engage all five senses. The custom seating uses a combination of different textures while the mosaic tabletop elevates the meal into a truly unique, interactive dining experience.

Bonapita + Soldier Design

Artaic teamed up with Soldier Design to create a custom black and white mosaic floor for their vignette at Bonapita, a local quick service restaurant that serves fresh and nutritious Mediterranean food.
