Artaic to Exhibit at the 2022 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo
The Brand Will Showcase New and Custom Mosaics Tailored for Healthcare Spaces in Booth 363
Charlestown, MA — October 2022 — Artaic is excited to announce their participation in the 2022 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo, taking place October 9-11 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. The Boston-based custom mosaic designer and manufacturing company will exhibit new designs from their latest collections, including Flourish and Lasting Rugs, which offer healthcare spaces an innovative, clever, and practical way to incorporate plants, flowers and/or the warmth of a traditional rug into lobbies, waiting rooms, administrative offices, hallways, patient rooms, exterior facades, and courtyards without concerns over allergies, germs, and maintenance.
Artaic’s tiles are inherently durable and easy-to-clean, rendering them perfectly suited for healthcare spaces. The mosaics are non-porous, thus hypoallergenic and able to be sterilized, making them a great alternative to paints and carpets, while adding a highly artistic element to healthcare design. Healing and positive imagery, specifically within healthcare, has shown to profoundly improve the human response to the environment. With Artaic’s custom projects and collection designs like Flourish’s biophilic elements, colorful and inspiring mosaic artworks are able to bring positivity and serenity to waiting rooms, offices, and other healthcare spaces through color psychology and visual cues.
In booth #363, Artaic will display new designs from Flourish and the Lasting Rugs Collection – a tile alternative to traditional rugs – along with one of Artaic’s proprietary mosaic-building robots, TileBot, demonstrating Artaic’s unique process. Through proprietary software and robotic technology, the brand is able to design and manufacture custom mosaics, creating artworks that reflect the local community and that incorporate color stories to evoke calmness. For Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, for example, Artaic created a custom child-friendly lobby piece that features two elephants in cool tones, a color palette shown to have an impact on the body’s ability to respond to healing.
“We set out to bring more beauty to healthcare spaces in 2022, and we’re excited to share the result of that goal,” shared Founder and CEO Ted Acworth, who will also be in attendance. “Our robotic technology will be on display at the show as well to highlight how we’re able to turn any vision into a tile mosaic, which, of course, are ideal forms of art for healthcare environments.”
Artaic offers numerous tile options to choose from including: Glazed Porcelain; Vitreous Glass; Natural Stone; and Sintered Glass—sustainable tiles made from recycled windshields (a great choice for buildings looking to achieve LEED credits). Designers are able to choose from over 300 colors – which
allows them to customize their vision and bring as much detail to their mosaic as desired: whether they are looking to create a specific image or logo, or are interested in field tile design: solids and blends, gradients, or geometric and modular repeats found in Artaic’s Quad Collection.
The Artaic team will have samples from various design collections at their booth, as well as information about their Custom On-Demand Program, a new solution to the current supply chain crisis that allows for a fully custom mosaic to be shipped from their Boston facility in four to six weeks.
“We’re in a unique position where we’ve created a domestic supply chain for a product that is currently on extreme international delays,” noted Acworth. “With renovation timelines extending longer than ever before, we’re proud to be part of the solution.”
