Empire Restaurant
Empire Restaurant recently opened it’s doors in Boston’s newly established Innovation District serving up fresh Asian-fusion cuisine in a sleek, modern space, bathed in bright turquoise, oranges and gold and punctuated with intricate patterns, vibrant rugs, plush fabrics and exotic Asian art.
Big Night Entertainment Group worked with designer Peter Niemitz to create a stunning Imperial Chinese-meets-contemporary Asian ambience. The enormous 14,000-square-foot space is divided into nine esthetically distinct rooms, seating approximately 350: the Great Wall Gallery, Bar and Lounge, Salon, Imperial Dining Room, Persimmon Room, three private dining rooms served by a private bar, and an Asian awe-inspiring open kitchen at the heart.
“I believe Empire is our best design yet. It pays tribute to traditional Chinese culture and design as well as a commitment to the new bold vision of Fan Pier on Boston’s new waterfront. We designed everything in the space, creating a sophisticated, contemporary interpretation of the classic Chinese Imperial esthetic & an old world feel with a touch of Hong Kong mystery.”
-BNEG Principal Ed Kane.
Surrounding the Kitchen and sushi Bar, central to the restaurant is a custom designed mosaic floor pattern by Artaic. The 1,850 sqft mosaic uses roughly 266,400 individual 1″ porcelain tiles to create a dynamic pattern that draws guests to the dramatic open kitchen. Integrating warm orange and brown tones with pops of vibrant turquoise, the tile pattern along with detailed ceilings and geometric-patterned grates and screens, custom glass, and a dramatic, fiery “Foo” dog carpet create a multi-layered and textural design that is not to be missed!
